DARNELL WILLIAMS II ENDOWMENT, INC.
September 25, 1989 January 22, 2007
Darnell Williams II attended Marvell-Elaine High School from kindergarten through 12th grade. Darnell had hopes & dreams, as all people do. However, he died tragically as a result of an automobile accident the afternoon of January 22, 2007.
He was attending Marvell-Elaine High School at the time of his death. Darnell took nothing for granted. He studied diligently in his classes. He tried to make sure he would have enough credits for graduation, obtaining a good grade point average and ACT score to enter college. He did achieve enough credits to graduate; therefore, his family was honored with his diploma May 19, 2007. Darnell planned to pursue a degree in Business Management, further his education & pursue a degree in Pharmacy. He was lively, energetic, focusing on his future & looking forward to starting his own business.
Darnell never hesitated to give to others and did so even in his demise by being an organ donor. In life, 17-year-old Darnell Williams II was known as a giver. Darnell was a young man of integrity, high moral standards, had a faithful commitment to God, family, and friends, had a love of life with respect and compassion for all people. Even in his death, he kept those high spiritual qualities; donating his organs to save three other lives.
Darnell would be proud to know this endowment, started by his family, will enable a deserving person an opportunity to pursue one of their dreams. Darnell’s family is honored to have his memory preserved forever through the hopes and dreams of a well deserving recipient. We are grateful to his friends & the generosity of others who with their efforts, made this endowment possible.
On August 6, 2008 our family incorporated the Darnell Williams II Scholarship. It is presently the Darnell Williams II Endowment, Inc. 501(c) (3). Funds will be paid to a student in hope that the recipient will use the funds towards tuition, fees, books, or other essentials needed toward college.
